Diarylether-formation: A Comparison of Heating using Microwave Irradiation to 20 bar and 30 bar
5 Mar 2012

The formation of diarylethers by reacting an arylhalide and phenol is usually a reaction demanding long reaction times, high temperatures and strong bases, in order to obtain an acceptable yield. This note demonstrates that microwave synthesis dramatically shortens reaction time to 1 hour (from 2 weeks) and improves yield.
