Determination of Common Beta-Agonist Residues in Meat Products
26 Nov 2012

This application note describes the use of the ACQUITY UPLC System, coupled with the Xevo TQ-S Mass Spectrometer for the determination of three common beta agonist residues (clenbuterol, ractopamine, and salbutamol) in meat. Compared to the GB/T 22286-2008 LC method, the sample run time has been shortened from 26 minutes to 7 minutes with UPLC; the sample extraction procedure and chromatographic conditions have been optimized; and additional MRM transitions and stable isotope international standards have been employed to improve the analysis. In addition, the ACQUITY UPLC HSS T3 1.8 μm Column was investigated during the actual meat product analysis.
