Analysis of Fat-Soluble Vitamins in Fortified Infant Formula by Standard Addition
15 Nov 2012

This application note describes a solid phase extraction (SPE) method for the simultaneous extraction of fat-soluble vitamins (FSVs) from infant formula and Standard Reference Material (SRM) 1849a, and quantitation by standard addition. The Xevo TQ-S makes it possible to detect targeted FSVs at low concentrations in infant formula, which is a highly complex matrix. The high sensitivity of the ACQUITY UPLC System, coupled to the Xevo TQ-S enables the dilution of samples to reduce matrix effects. Using this method, analysis can be completed within minutes.
