Presentation: Dr Peter O’Toole, University of York: Making Light Work of 3D Bioimaging

22 April 2016

Dr Peter O’Toole, Director of the Bioscience Technology Facility, Head of Imaging and Cytometry Laboratory, University of York, discusses the benefits of microscopy for biologists. Dr O’Toole discusses his experience as a beta-tester of the ZEISS LSM 880 with Airyscan. Hear how the confocal system provided improved sensitivity and resolution for the detailed analysis of mitotic cells, bacterial imaging, among other samples. Also, learn about the benefits of Light Sheet Microscopy for in vivo 3D imaging and hear how he hopes to implement correlative microscopy techniques to understand genomic, metabolomics and biochemical data.
