Product News: The Scientists’ Choice Awards Winners are Announced!

The Scientists’ Choice Awards for the Best New Life Science Product of 2010 and Best Video of 2010 have been announced at the AACR Annual meeting in Orlando, Florida.

The winners are:

Best New Life Science Product of 2010:

HiSeq 2000 Sequencing System, Illumina

Best Video of 2010:


The Scientists' Choice Awards provide the online laboratory community with a channel to voice their opinion and provide feedback to manufacturers. Members of the SelectScience Life Science community were invited to nominate and vote for their favourite products of 2010 in a recent online survey.

The HiSeq 2000 Sequencing System from Illumina was voted the Best New Life Science
Product of 2010 from the following nominees:

Olympus Europa Holding GmbH

Synergy H1 Hybrid Multi-Mode Microplate Reader
Biotek Instruments, Inc

Odyssey® Fc Imaging System

The winner of the Scientists’ Choice Web Award for the Best Video was also honoured at AACR. The Web Awards acknowledge the most successful e-marketing campaigns of the year and provide marketers an invaluable insight into the most effective online techniques. Syngene received the highest response rate for the ‘New Gel Doc System for 16 Bit Imaging’ video interview.
