3D Spheroids for Cardiovascular Drug Discovery in Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell–Derived Cardiomyocytes

It is important to test lead compounds against an ion channel targets in the early stages of drug development to prevent failure at a later stage. This article proposes use of multiple-spheroids assay to test cardio toxicity. Carrying out the assay in an ElplasiaTM plate (SQ 200 200 NA 96) enables multiple data points to be obtained for each well, therefore average of BPM and the frequency of occurring Early–After-Depolarization (EAD) can be calculated from a single well.
