Reliable End Group Determination for Polymers using PMMA as a Model

The ability to accurately and reliably carry out end group analysis provides valuable information to both polymer manufacturers and polymer research scientists. Information about the end groups can be used to indicate the synthetic process followed and guide how further chemical modifications can be carried out. This application note describes how the Waters Xevo G2 QTof can be used to determine polymer end groups, using poly methyl methacrylate (PMMA) as a model example.
