Quantitation by HPLC and Identification by LC/MS for Total Aflatoxins in Food
6 Nov 2012

Aflatoxins are mycotoxins that are extremely carcinogenic and acutely toxic. In this application note from Shimadzu a complete workflow for the preparation, quantitation and identification of aflatoxins is presented. After pretreatment using an immunoaffinity column, quantitation was performed using a HPLC method and identification was achieved using an LC/MS system. In addition rapid quantitation and identification using the Nexera UHPLC system is described.
