Specific dsDNA Quantification
7 Nov 2012

Precise quantification and normalization of isolated genomic DNA is critical for advanced molecular testing in life science research and molecular diagnostics. UV/Vis based quantification has long been the method of choice. However, determining the DNA concentration based on the absorbance at 260 nm suffers from interference of components such as RNA, proteins and phenols. In this application note, dsDNA quantification using the cDrop™ method is compared to both the traditional A260 quantification and the PicoGreen® assay. The cDrop™ Software has similar high specificity for dsDNA as the PicoGreen® assay, but a much more efficient workflow.
