Simultaneous Extraction of Fat-Soluble Vitamins from Fortified Foods using Solid Phase Extraction (SPE)

This application note presents a method to simultaneously extract fat-soluble vitamins (FSVs) from fortified food products using solid phase extraction (SPE). Due to the diversity of food and beverage products fortified with FSVs there is a need for stringent control over quality and quantity of fortification. This means a simple, reliable and sensitive method is required. Using the Waters Oasis HLB Cartridge to perform SPE enables good recoveries for analysis of all FSVs even in the presence of oils and other interferences.
