Scientific Poster: Polymeric vs Silica Based Solid Phase Extraction Columns for the Analysis of Delta-9-THC and 11-nor-9-Carboxy-THC in Oral Fluid
29 December 2014

Cannabis is the most widely used illegal substance in the world, where humans smoke or ingest it for its psychotropic effects. Analytical methods for quantifying cannabinoids and their metabolites exist for plasma, blood, urine, hair, sweat and oral fluid. This study explores the efficiency of polymeric versus silica based solid phase columns for the extraction of Delta-9-THC and its primary metabolite 11-nor-9-Carboxy-THC from oral fluid prepared using the Quantisal™ Synthetic Negative Oral Fluid diluted with extraction buffer.
