OLED Materials Characterized with TG, DSC and MS
8 Nov 2011

In this application note thermogravimetry (TG) is used to investigate the evaporation and decomposition behavior of materials used in OLEDs. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) is used to measure caloric effects, such as glass transition or melting, as well as the specific heat capacity. Detection of the evolved gases was performed using mass spectroscopy (MS) or Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR) which allowed the chemical analysis of the sample.
