Carbohydrate Determination by HPAE-PAD with Disposable Au on PTFE Working Electrodes

In this note Gold on polytetrafluoroethylene (Au on PTFE) disposable working electrodes are evaluated in a variety of carbohydrate applications to determine lifetime, background, and noise characteristics. The electrodes were evaluated using diverse analytes such as aminoglycoside antibiotics, mono- and disaccharides, oligosaccharides, sialic acids, and hydroxymethylfurfural. The chromatographic conditions for these analytes varied widely, providing a collection of evaluation data that describes many common HPAE-PAD carbohydrate applications.
