1 May 2015
Blood transfusion (BT) as a blood doping practice is banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA). It can be abused by athletes to increase the rate of oxygen transport to their tissues, with the aim to improve sport performance. In this application note, the role and the variability of microRNA (miRNAs) as biomarkers, related to the practice of an autologous blood transfusion practice have been investigated.
