Determination of Phthalates in Consumer Products Using HPLC
19 May 2016

Phthalates are in the majority of cases used as plasticizers in flexible polyvinylchloride products and are evaporated from consumer products or find their way into the environment by abrasion from PVC particles. The EU has classified some as toxic to reproduction and banned them, especially from baby products. A reliable and robust method for the separation and determination of eight commonly used phthalates in consumer products is presented in this application note.
