Adopting Forensic Analyses to Specific Lab Needs – Identifying Psychotropics in Serum Using the Toxtyper Open Library Concept
21 Nov 2014

The aim of this project was to develop an analysis method for psychotropic medical drugs based on the Toxtyper™ open library concept. The presented method used a Dionex RSLC coupled to a Bruker Daltonics amaZon speed ion trap mass spectrometer and proved to be a fast and robust tool for the detection and identification of 105 psychotropic medical drugs in serum. Evaluation of spiked samples showed detection at low concentration levels for the majority of compounds, making the analysis applicable for clinical research and forensic samples.
