In this video Dr. Mehmet Toner, Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, tells SelectScience how his dream team, established by Stand Up to Cancer (SU2C), works to develop enabling technologies for the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. He explains how his dream team has developed a novel and radically different approach for detecting and isolating circulating tumor cells (CTCs). Mehmet discusses how the team hopes that this new microchip will be used to detect cancers earlier and will help physicians make treatment decisions that might lengthen a person’s life expectancy after their cancer diagnosis.
