"This 10"X10" hotplate stirrer is the best hotplate/stirrer I have ever used. It is my first digital one and this makes using it very easy and you feel like you have more control. It does take a little getting used to (and the instructions are not overly clear), but once you do it works very well. I like that it has a warning light that the surface is still warm after shutdown. The price was very reasonable. The surface is a typical ceramic surface that is easy to keep clean as long as you don't let spills sit."

The low-profile design occupies minimal bench space, and fits into fume hoods. The rear housing of the unit features an off-centered, built-in support rod holder with locking knob that accepts the probe kit supplied with each unit. Hot plate stirrers are available with ceramic or aluminum top plate material. White reflective ceramic tops are chemical-resistant and easy to clean. Durable aluminum tops will not crack or chip, and offer a more even heating surface.
Hot plate stirrers are equipped with a variety of innovative safety features designed to facilitate efficient operation and workplace safety. Unit housing is constructed of a heat- and chemical-resistant polymer that remains cool to the touch throughout use. The spill-resistant housing channels fluids away from internal components in the event of a spill. A maximum temperature limiting function ensures the plate temperature will not exceed preset limits, allowing for control of sensitive flash points. A hot symbol warning light is illuminated when the heat is turned on, and remains lit until the top plate is sufficiently cooled. In timed mode, an alarm will sound when time reaches zero, or when the unit reaches set point temperature. Additionally, if the probe disengages from the sample, or if the stirrer motor stops or fails, the heater will automatically shut off. Units are equipped with redundant safety controls, which will shut down unit in case of heater malfunction.
A timer displays elapsed time or a user-defined limit, and will shut off the unit when time reaches zero. The last used settings will be displayed, even after the power has been shut off. Enhanced electronics regulate the heating and stirring, and will bring samples to the desired temperature quickly and efficiently. An RTD ensures precise temperature control. A powerful continuous duty motor delivers dependable and reliable stirring at all speeds.
