 The Tube Formation BioApplication is an image analysis module that easily and reliably quantitates angiogenic tube formation in vitro.  It  identifies tubes based on morphological properties, and measures number, tube size (area), and other features of tubes in cell cultures. 

This BioApplication calculates and reports reports number of connected vs. unconnected tubes, number of nodes (branch points), and angiogenic index.  This application has utility in multiple research areas where measurement of tube formation is required. 

This application has been biologically validated in HUVECs, and can be used for on-the-fly analysis of images collected on any Cellomics® HCS Reader.  The automated, robust performance of this functional assay will allow you to directly screen for inhibitors of angiogenesis.  Available for the ArrayScan (3.1, 4.0. x.5, and VTI) and KineticScan 2.2 platforms.
