Great instrument
Application Area: protein protein interaction and protein Liposome interactions
"Without any micro-fluidics, there is no risk for clogging effects as described for SPR. This well-established optical biosensor platform provides versatility in experimental design. In order to study the individual influence of various buffers or matrices, the microtiter plate system offers a method for rapidly exchanging the tested solvents; thus, liposome/protein interaction can be performed easily, in a high throughput manner and in an automated workflow. Additionally, the use of HTX-BLI based instruments in the 32-channelmode and 384 well plates means that 32 individual real-time kinetic measurements of liposome/protein interactions can be performed during a single unattended run of less than 30 min."

Fast and easy mAb quantification :)
Application Area:quantification of mAb in HEK supernatant
"Octet QKe is easy to use to quantify mAb in supernatant with Protein A biosensors. Result variability is around 5% which is a lot better that ELISA alternative"

Reliable and robust platform for protein binding and detection
Application Area:Antibody-antigen binding affinities. Detection and quantification of host-cell proteins.
"The Octet QKe has provided us with a robust and versatile platform for the measurement of antibody antigen interactions. Since its sensors are disposable and do not involve the handling of liquid samples, the prospect of cross contamination is virtually eliminated, thereby enabling parallel antibody screening applications. We have also used the QKe for the detection of host-cell proteins in a method that is quicker and has a lower variability than the conventional ELISA."
The Octet QKe system is configured for eight-channel parallel analysis, enabling operators to increase throughput and control different variables in parallel without increasing budget or headcount. It is specially designed for characterization of large molecules. With its enhanced sensitivity setting the system is ideal for measuring lower weight analytes, broadening the dynamic range for protein quantitation and kinetics.
The system also allows for the reracking and reuse of biosensors, enhancing flexibility when loading ligands and reducing the overall operational costs. The QKe can analyze crude samples taken directly from bioreactors or periplasmic preparations, minimizing sample preparation time and eliminating workflow delays.
