Great results and good performance.
Application Area:Toxicology
"Great product, best results ever, easy software to use, information available. Installation still difficult, hight degree of results and performance problems with power and management software tools. Expensive price but great choice for product analysis."

Robust system for general use GC.
Application Area:Analysis of manufacturing raw materials and final products
"The Clarus 690 GC is a robust system that allows for rapid analysis and high throughput. The color touch screen makes it easy to see the instrument's status, however I find the touch screen to be less helpful when it comes to actually controlling the system. I use the GC with TotalChrom software and couldn't imagine running the system without the software and a separate computer. The FID range and sensitivity are great. We have even been able to see to a fractions of a ppm using headspace methods. I do find that the oven space is tight, which makes for efficient column oven control, but makes it hard when changing columns with little wiggle room for your hands as opposed to other models I have used. I find the autosampler to be a bit slow. As compared to Agilent's system the vials are stored in a carousel and sampled directly from their position with no need for the system to pick vials up and position them for injections. The wash vials are also on the carousel which seems to slow this sampler down compared to Agilent's."
When the highest levels of throughput are critical to your operations, choose the Clarus 690 gas chromatograph. Its patented high-performance oven delivers the fastest heat-up and cool-down of any oven in the business, and that means shorter injection-to-injection times, and the ability to run more samples per day. Plus, the oven’s twin-wall design with concentric air exhaust provides exceptional cooling to near-ambient temperatures without resorting to liquid cryogen – critical for analysis of VOCs. The Clarus 690 GC features a wide-range flame ionization detector (FID), a new high-performance capillary injector with decreased reactivity, and autosampler technology that delivers multiple options for liquid injection, headspace, and SPME on one system.
This system is driven by our TotalChrom™ chromatography data system (CDS) that serves as both an instrument controller and a data management system, making it the best choice for data handling in demanding multiuser, multisite environments where a number of instruments are in use. Plus, the TotalChrom system’s unique data protection features ensure that data acquisition processes aren’t disrupted or compromised. Plus, our GC instruments feature an intuitive touch-screen interface with real-time signal display and eight-language support for greatly simplified user interaction.
