"Biacore 8k is the new gold standard for high throughput screening and high-resolution kinetics analysis. The system can address 8 interactions at once in multi-cycle or single-cycle injection mode. The control and the analysis software are completely revamped and highly user friendly. The build-in evaluation templates makes data analysis a breeze and within a few clicks the final report can be generated. While the relatively higher antigen consumption might be an issue, the quality of the data generated easily makes up for it. The instrument is offered at a very competitive price to other similar SPR based instruments. Overall, the instrument should serve the high throughput screening as well as high resolution kinetics requirements of the various stages of drug discovery and characterization."

Biacore 8K efficiently delivers binding data to meet the toughest challenges in small molecule and biotherapeutic screening and characterization. This eight needle, high-performance surface plasmon resonance (SPR) system rapidly provides high-quality kinetics and affinity data—from the fastest on-rates to the slowest off-rates—shortening time to results by up to eight-fold compared to single-needle systems.
The blend of system flexibility and throughput reduces the experimental cycle time, even for complex targets and new drug formats. The high sensitivity of the system opens for analysis of low-abundance molecules or sensitive, complex targets such as G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), which often have low activity levels due to their inherently low stability.
