Product News: Anton Paar Launches Atmospheric Distillation Unit Diana 700

Achieve fully-automated and highly precise distillation range analysis of organic liquids with Diana 700

30 Oct 2018

Anton Paar has launched Diana 700, the ideal solution for automatically performing high-precision distillation range analysis at atmospheric pressure. Typical samples to be analyzed include petrochemical products, aromatic hydrocarbons, and other volatile organic liquids. The combination of premium technology and distinguished features leads to unrivaled ease of use, high efficiency, and safe operation.

Support and automation for reliable results

To simplify the preparation of a measurement Diana 700 supports you with several built-in features to provide maximum support.

The intelligent condition monitoring system controls all steps that are necessary to perform a distillation and only allows a start if every step was completed successfully. Users do not lose time on test repeats due to an incorrect setup or non-compliance with the standard.

The instrument has a high degree of automation as the heater and a protection shield move up fully automatically after the flask has been installed using the unique and mobile multi-plug.

Untrained users benefit from illustrations that explain the procedure that is necessary to start a distillation step-by-step. For experienced users, the advanced mode enables a quick start.

Convenience combined with efficiency

For a smooth operator experience and to increase the usability of the instrument, the multi-plug combines the vapor temperature sensor and the flask mounting device. With just one hand it is possible to install the 125 mL or 200 mL flask within seconds in the correct position.

The receiving chamber of Diana 700 ensures very easy operation. Thanks to the tight jacketing of the receiving cylinder, the cooling chamber guarantees an excellent stability of the sample and cylinder temperature.

Because of the highly efficient Peltier tempering technique for the condenser and the receiving chamber, Diana 700 enables a fast switch between different ASTM D86 distillation groups and reaches the required temperatures in less than five minutes.

The volume detection makes use of the high accuracy of contact imaging sensor technology (CIS) in order to achieve a precise and continuous determination of the sample volume throughout the distillation. Additionally, the volume is measured by the instrument before the test starts and corrected to 100 % volume, if necessary.

Considering valuable customer feedback and using state-of-the-art technology, Anton Paar designed Diana 700 as a modern and easy-to-use instrument. Several built-in features provide support, efficiency, and safety.
