It is estimated that hospital-associated infections (HAI) cost between $35 and $45 billion in the USA and the NHS £3 billion in the UK, as well as countless lives. To counter such costs, Microzone proposes a method for the rapid preparation of cultured bacterial samples for Sanger Sequencing. Utilization of Microzone's 'free from' technology is highlighted for allowing for fast, efficient workflows only requiring a centrifugation step and not requiring automation.
