Advanced Infrared 2-colour Microarray Scanner: InnoScan 710IR
"The Innoscan 710-IR performs well in our hands. It has the sensitivity and dynamic range of a conventional laser-PMT microarray scanner, but scans at wavelengths suited to nitrocellulose membranes. Scanning in the IR range really does overcome the inherent auto-fluorescence of nitrocellulose that limits its use in conventional fluorescence analysis. With this scanner, we can get protein on nitrocellulose to produce signals in the 65K range with backgroud levels <1K. It has greatly increased the quality of the data from all of our nitrocellulose based protein assays. The software is easy to use and intuitive, especially if you have operated other microarray scanners. The auto loader performs well, and the automated analysis software also performs well - always correctly placing the grid and finding spots. It really cranks out the data with minimal user intervention. It's not cheap, (its comparable with conventional microarray scanners), but it does work well."
