Size Exclusion Chromatography
Size exclusion chromatography (SEC) uses porous columns to separate, purify and characterize different sized polymers or particles. Small particles which diffuse into porous beads have longer residence times and peak later in the chromatogram. In choosing size exclusion systems consider stationary phases, e.g. polyacrylamide, silica, agarose, and columns with specific pore sizes.
