The Scientists' Choice Award for Best Drug Discovery & Development Article was awarded to an interview with Dr Kirk McManus, Associate Professor in the Department of Biochemistry & Medical Genetics at the University of Manitoba and Senior Scientist within the Research Institute in Oncology at CancerCare Manitoba. Read the article to learn about cutting-edge cancer research using a high throughput screening workflow from BioTek Instruments, Inc. that aims to identify cancer causing genetic abnormalities and screen potential therapies.

“It is with great pleasure that I accept this award and honor on behalf of my research team at CancerCare Manitoba and the University of Manitoba. It was truly a pleasure to provide insight into the cancer research and high throughput screens we are performing and share this with a world-wide audience. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Select Science, and in particular Sarah Thomas and Lynsey Forsyth, for the professional manner in which they conducted the interview and the outstanding article they produced.
