"This machine does not work as advertised; it is slow, leaves lots of residue, tips clog constantly, does not come with a self-cleaning program for rinsing the tubes and tips when finished using, the screen is very old-looking and small (black and white, and only large enough to fit one line of words; it is surprising to me that they did not put a larger, user-friendly, color screen on a machine at this price (like other brands have), and kept electrocuting me with static shocks every time I touched it, to the point that the saved programs on the machine would be deleted due to the shock and I had to keep reprograming it all over again. Other brands on the market even have a pump to pump air out and purge/dry tips and tubes during the pre-programmed self-clean cycle, so cleaning and clogging is not an issue with those. Not only this machine does not come with such a cycle, but there is nothing in the instruction manual as a suggestion on how such a cycle should be set up! The technician who installed it did not know what the cleaning cycle should be like (how many rinses, whether the tips should be dried after each use by using wash cycles without any liquid, etc.). The only suggestion was to rinse the tips after every single use with pure ethanol! Overall, this was one of the worst and most expensive purchases of our lab, and has been collecting dust on a lab bench for the past couple of years after a year of wasting time, trying to get it to perform well enough to replace manual microplate washing."
