"If you have struggled with an older evaporation unit that has tied up fume hood space, I would highly recommend this product. We originally purchased this for participation in the FDA AOAC pesticide residue collaborative study to evaporate SPE clean up but it has become the go to evaporation system for all of our work be it concentration of HPTLC extracts or melamine analysis or any other lab step requiring a concentration or drying step. The intelligent design features we love about this unit are the front quick connect drain for the bath (just drain the bath when done right into a bucket then unclick the hose when done) the ability to use different vessel sizes including EPA vials up to 200mL evap vessels, adjustable racks so you can hold different tube lengths (100mm or 150mm for instance) and the ability to prepare one rack while evaporating another. The quick reference card gives you a rapid layout for various racks on where to put the evap needles and where to put caps. However, even better is that if you only have a few samples, you do not need to cap off all the rows of ports. You just deselect those from the gas flow and run gas on the rows where samples are. Another feature is the ramped gas flow which allows you to start with lower gas flow when the tubes are full and increase it as they dry down avoiding splashing as well as gaining speed and you do not have to sit there tweaking valves and checking tubes. The system has a nice easy open top and a clear sight area to check your samples. Best of all, it has its own vent line system and sits on the bench not in the hood greatly reducing traffic backups in the hoods. I and my entire staff are so happy that we have this unit. It has taken the dread out of evaporation when parallel throughput is needed. We have no complaints and the company was accommodating to our special deadline needs and actively checks in to see if we are having any issues or have any questions. This costs more than some evaporators but we are saving a lot of time and money that more than pays for it."
