"The XBridge Amide column is prepared by high end capped silica particles, and it reduces or excludes our cation-exchange interaction when we use it in HILIC mode. HILIC phases are understood as mixed-mode phases, and the retention mechanism is difficult to understand due to its complex nature. In the case of XBridge Amide column, only hydrophilic partition mechanism seems to be important, and it is much easier to understand retention mechanism compared to another non-endo-capped stationary phases. In the case of a column, we do not need any after sales service, but we could find out the separation characteristics via the information from the company. The column is valuable in HILIC separation. It seems to be stable though the degree of hydrophilic nature and is somewhat lower than conventional amide bonded stationary phases. As mentioned above, this stationary phase is valuable to consider."

"I used XBridge Amide 3.5 um column for HILIC separation of atmospheric dicarboxylic acids. I found it very reproducible over a large period of time (> 3 months) while being extensively used during initial method development (use of different mobile phase buffers, pHs and organic solvents), method validation and application to atmospheric particulate matter. After more than 1000 injections with proper change of the guard, the analytical column preserved its initial efficiency and gave me the needed selectivity for separation of the various atmospheric acids. The column is still in good shape and operable. No increase of the column backpressure was observed during its use. We are very satisfied with the product and the level of service provided by Waters representatives."

"Most of the time it uses formic acid buffer, but there are needs to use high pH buffer like 0.1 % NH4OH. The column performs well and is very stable. If using 2.5 µm particles, consider the XP format as it is cheaper according to the webpage."

"This product is nice because it allows us to increase separation resolution without changing the validated method. The X-Bridge columns are part of Waters new smaller particle size columns. The chemistry of the stationary phase is the same as the 5um columns we have used in the past but packing is now 3.5um. We have just started using the columns so I cannot comment on the shelf life difference."

"This is a very rugged column in reversed phase chromatography with a wide pH range. It is an ideal column for method development with maximum flexibility across the entire pH range.
