Product detail:

Xaminer, the new chromatographic matching and instrument control software product, provides rapid, automated matching of complex GC/MS data files. Originally developed to meet the high throughput requirements of the Michigan State Police Arson Department, Xaminer makes identification of highly complex mixtures straightforward, thereby easing the burden of the reviewing scientist. Historically, flammable liquid residues found in arson cases have been identified by experienced scientists, a skill taking years to acquire. Scientists must match chromatographic traces of unknown samples with those of known reference samples, a process that is iterative, subjective and highly dependent on the skill of the reviewer. Xaminer can automatically perform these laborious tasks, at least 20 times faster, and produce consistent, unbiased quantitative results every time.

Xaminer’s flexibility allows it to be used for any application where automated identification of complex unknown mixtures is required: forensic fire debris characterization; screening for neonatal metabolic disorders; paint and colorant matching; flavor and fragrance identification; off-odors in foods and beverages and marine oil spill characterization, just to name a few.
