"WHATMAN 0.45 µm PES devised by GE Healthcare Life Sciences are good for filtering buffers and other solutions for chromatography. It removes maximum particulate matters from the solution. I recommend it to use for filtering solutions. "

GE Healthcare's Whatman Puradisc Product Range

The Whatman Puradisc product range is available with a wide selection of sizes and membrane types to provide full flexibility for each application. For cold sterilization GE healthcare recommend the Puradisc sterile syringe filter with a 0.2 μm PES membrane.

The PES membrane is inherently hydrophilic, has low extractables, and exhibits low protein binding. These features allow samples to be filtered without any risk of contamination. The housing is made of pigment free polypropylene (PP) ensuring high quality sample preparation for critical applications. Cell culture additions up to 50 ml can be filtered (depending on the sample type) using the sterile Puradisc with 0.2 μm PES membrane.

GE healthcares's Whatman Puradisc Aqua 30
The Whatman Puradisc Aqua 30 is specifically designed for filtration of environmental samples prior to COD and DOC analysis. The membranes used in these devices are prewashed prior to assembly so as to reduce the organic carbon level.
