"Very good instrument with a variety of applications from Western Blots to ethidium gels. Also has quantification software built in for ease of use. Resolution of the blots could be improved a bit, but otherwise works great."
Bio-Rad VersaDoc Imaging Systems are high-quality, flexible instruments that allow imaging of a wide range of samples - from 1-D and 2-D gels to chemiluminescent blots, microplates, and autoradiograms.
The Bio-Rad VersaDoc imaging system provides the capabilities of many quantitative imaging systems in one. The VersaDoc system captures digital images from single and multicolor fluorescent, chemiluminescent, chemifluorescent, and colorimetric samples.
The VersaDoc imaging system uses Peltier-cooled, high-resolution digital CCD technology in combination with a unique dual UV broadband illumination mechanism and a highly efficient optical design. The result is excellent sensitivity, uniformity, flexibility, and dynamic range, often matching that of more expensive laser-based technologies. The VersaDoc is designed for analysis of a wide range of samples, including gels, blots, microplates, TLC plates, and autoradiograms. It includes 8 emission filter positions to allow efficient multiplexing of standards and unknowns.
The VersaDoc system is available in 2 models, the MP 4000 and MP 5000 System. Both Systems Offer
