upcyte® Hepatocytes are genetically engineered human cell strains, derived from single donor primary cells.

The assay-ready standardized cells exhibit primary features. Applications include functional pharmaceutical studies on liver metabolism as well as  comprehensive, predictive compound toxicity screenings (e.g. ADMET, short/long term assays, genotoxicity testing). Depending on the required complexity of the cell system, liver-derived upcyte® cells can be used as 2D-monolayers for high-throughput screens or as 3D-systems such as spheroids and organoids that enable realistic hepatic studies.
