"Physically, this is a fairly well designed system, but it can get pretty tall when stacked on a bench. We have the two-pump option, which allows fewer solvents on one system than the other, and isn't ideal. The cycle time between injections is a little longer than I'm used to with other systems. Detector performance (UV-vis and DAD) is fine. Performance as a uHPLC system is good. The Dionex column connectors cope well with high pressures, but can be tricky to remove from a column. You'll need to buy their tubing to plumb in the column, so get a variety of lengths to suit the columns you might use. To check the pump flow rate, you need to provide back-pressure for the pump to work properly, but the manufacturer doesn't appear to be willing to say what back-pressure is required for the pump to meet their specification. The software isn't that user-friendly or intuitive. It has its quirks, some of which I find annoying. The "help" isn't always helpful. "

"Very good system for LC/MS work, it is easy to use and command by using Chameleon software. Maintenance and troubleshooting is quite easy to get around with once you get to know the system well, however the pumps do not offer a constant flow (jumps and falls in pressure, requiring repeated purging and cleaning)."

"I am an expert in nano and capillary LC and the research that I do with the Ultimate(R) 3000 Basic nanoLC System of Thermo Fisher (Dionex) presents exceptional characteristics and the results and configurations offered by the Chromeleon software are amazing. The possibilities to configurate the system are really spectacular and the results obtained present fantastic efficiencies and reproducibility. One of the bad things is the difficultly knowing the software because you need a really intensive course to understand all the functionalities and this causes complications at the start of research. Finally, I think that I would give it a 3.5 out of 5 points because I think that it is possible to improve the system in the near future offering an easy to use software but with the same amazing results."

"This is easy to use, and it has perfect after sales services. Actually, this machine kept working without any problems. In our lab, we are using a capillary channeled polymer fibers like nylon 6 to make our column. The c-cp fibers have been used as the stationary phase in ion-exchange chromatography, affinity chromatography and so on. Most of my work was done on this machine, I like it so much."

"This system with Chromelon software is easy to operate. It has a nice arrangement for auto-sampler and column temperature control units. The sample delivery is accurate. It would be nice to have an adapter for other detectors. The unit we are using had a UV detector, but we use an electrochemical detector for anion-exchange chromatograph. It is not so easy to connect a foreign detector to the system, and it causes trouble sometimes."

"The system is easy to use and to adjust for many applications. I have only used the system for about 4 months, but have learned the software quickly. For the same reason, I do not know much about the customer service or the price. However I would definitely recommend the product to colleagues for its ease of use."

"Software is difficult to pick up and requires you to run standards every day, cannot account for day-to-day fluctuations. Auto sample has issues with certain vial types. Cannot create a calibration curve using 3 variables. Have to create calibration curve by hand."
