"Some of the instructions were a little difficult to understand, and the sonication optimization might be challenging if one has not performed ChIP before , but overall the kit is very easy and fast to use. At least for ChIP qPCR for certain histone marks, I would definitely recommend the microChIP kit."

"This kit works very well for performing ChIP with small starting numbers of cells/amount of chromatin; in terms of qPCR, I get comparable Ct values when using 50ug chromatin with the microChIP kit vs. 200ug with a typical ChIP protocol, which is great when working with limited starting material (primary human samples). Starting with 50ug of chromatin from human samples (and using good antibodies), I was able to retain enough DNA to do library preparation using a "traditional" Illumina kit (i.e., not optimized for small amounts of starting material). When used with mouse cells, I get reproducible results when starting with only 5ug of chromatin. The only complaint I have is that an additional reagent (namely HBSS) is needed for the protocol, and this isn't clearly stated in the product information - I didn't notice it until I was setting up the reactions."
The True MicroChIP kit in combination with the MicroPlex Library Preparation™ kit allows for performing ChIP-seq on as few as 10,000 cells.
This microChIP-seq assay has been validated with the new generation IP-Star® Compact Automated Workstation. Furthermore Diagenode's high quality ChIP-seq grade antibodies have been used.
