"We had initially a few problems with the reader, but we were very much supported to solve the problem. Since then we are using the plate reader for microbial growth kinetics and various enzyme assays routinely. This works very well and gives stable and reproducible results. "

"The Berthold Tristar is a reliable, consistent, effective multi mode plate reader. It has up to 4 available injectors. Reads absorbance, fluorescence and luminescence. It is relatively user friendly, you can set up your own protocols with a minimum of effort and easily save variations on each protocol. The analysis software takes a little bit of use to become familiar with, however it is a good platform with no glitches or hang ups. The service personnel at Berthold are great. They can help you fix many issues just over the phone. I highly recommend the Tristar. Great value."

The TriStar is a great machine, easy to maintain, affordable and well-supported by local Berthold staff.

"This machine is very powerful yet has a small foot-print. Perfect for a small Elisa-technology based lab as ours. We have three detection-methods built in: Absorbance, Luminescence and Fluorescence. Also one dispensing unit is provided, very handy for flash luminescence applications. We use the TriStar even for chemistry end-point measurements in glass microtiter plates. Also measurements in non-SBS-format plates, tubes and vials can be done, supported by the easy-to-use but powerfull operating software. On occasions we needed a software update or minor repairs, which were done swiftly and effectively, and in a way we never were without an instrument, so we had no delays in our analysis output."

TriStar² LB 942 Multimode Microplate Reader Features:

  • Built-in Reagent Injectors - Up to 3 reagent injectors can be set up to dispense multiple activators or detection reagents at any time and with user-adjustable volumes during the measurement.
  • Wash Plate - Excess fluids from priming and washing procedures are safely discarded via a specially designed wash plate.
  • Temperature Control - A temperature controlled microplate compartment ensures stable conditions whenever temperature sensitive enzymes or cells are in use.
    Front Access of Reagents - The reagent reservoirs can be placed on the front for easy access and monitoring.
  • Modularity - In the TriStar² any of reading technologies can be combined with each other and any of the options added.
