"Data visualization is an absolute requirement for anyone collecting data. The more complicated the datasets are, the more capable you need the visualization software to be. Spotfire is very capable. There's definitely a bit of a learning curve, I'm sure it can do a lot more than I'm currently using it for, but figuring those details out doesn't seem as straightforward as I would like. One thing I definitely don't like is that tables don't update automatically when new columns are added (must delete all tables and recreate)."
