Proteins are extracted from tissue samples of patients, body fluids like saliva, serum, urine and also cell lines. Then we digest the proteins into peptides and later on analyze on mass spectrometer. Handling mass spec requires proper training but once you get acquainted with it, you will get to know its worth. It will become easy for you to handle if you spend more time on it. It is sensitive and results are reproducible as well."

I recommend others to use this instrument but with a target towards selecting an appropriate library. But the only drawback it's compound discoverer should have the possibility for mzxml format as input."
