"We bought the Orbitrap Elite as our main MS platform for analysing complex protein mixtures in a bottom-up UPLC-MSn workflow. In our hands, the Orbitrap performs as expected: High mass-accuracy (and stability), fast MSn cycles and high dynamic range and sensitivity. We are using our Orbitrap Elite 24/7, and that brings me to the only downside: Our machine needed extensive repairs in the first nine months after purchase, which, even though Thermo resonded quickly and actively tried to solve the problems as fast as possible, led to downtimes of about 8 weeks in total. That being said - the results we get are excellent. We would buy it again."   |
