Essential equipment for any high throughput assays.
Application Area:High throughput drug screening
"This instrument has been a life saver to us and helped us upscale all our drug screening experiments to high throughput stage. We are no longer reliant on outsourcing drug screening to our labs ever since we acquired the Multidrop. It is extremely user friendly, small and light enough to be portable."

Utterly useful addition to any lab requiring fluid dispensing into plates.
Application Area:High throughput drug screening
"This instrument has been vital in facilitating our high throughput drug screens. Since the purchase of this extremely user friendly instrument, we have been able to upscale our screening frequency. This instrument has a small footprint and is easy to move if required. Very easy to program protocols in as well. We have probably earned back in usage what we have actually spent purchasing the consumables. Highly recommend this instrument!"

Can't live without this instrument!
Application Area:Dispense for HTS screening
"This product is great for HTS screening and having to dispense on multiple plates. We have 7 right now. It saves a lot of time and helped move from running in 384 to 1536."

Easy to use, but small volume dispense tubing needs much t.l.c
Application Area:Dispense reagents
"Workhorse in our lab. Used by all to dispense 1-5ul liquid into assay plates. Main problem is the small bore size on the dispense tubing clogs very easily and is challenging to keep free flowing."

Great instrument, I can't live without it anymore!
Application Area:Cell Biology- Cell assay development and running - Translational research - cancer
"This instrument is very efficient, the quality of the results obtained are vary high. Standard deviation among my replicates are very low. It works very fast, is time saving. It is easy to use, and it adapts to all plates sizes. The only problem I see, is when we need to press the button " prime" to clean tubing. We need to keep the finger hitting the button for a long time, and it is painful in a long run."

Okay, but not perfect. Better than the WellMate in some ways, worse in others.
Application Area:Reagent and cell dispensing
"We run a core facility with numerous users and generally we like this instrument. It replaced our Matrix WellMates, and is a little faster dispensing, and somewhat more intuitive to use. It also has the ability to dispense a lower volume, although when we tested them head-to-head the WellMate was the better dispenser that day. Dispensing accuracy and precision greatly depend on the manifold/cassette you are using. The Combi cassettes are much more expensive than the WellMate manifolds and do not seem to be as durable. We have had numerous occasions where a piece of tubing has separated from the dispensing nozzle inside the cassette, and despite much effort to reattach them, it never seems to work again. The cassettes come in differing sizes (small and standard) and there are limitations with the standard cassettes in that they only dispense in multiples of 5uL. We have also noticed that the apparent dispense speed is higher which will result in bubbles forming in the well if you are dispensing high % serum media (15-20%). There is no ability to set a priming a volume. You have to hold the prime button. And if you set the dispensing options, and then go into the program menu, it switches all of your choices even if you do not choose a program. Do I like it? Yes, it's okay, but I would compare with other options and really go with what works best for you."

"The Multidrop Combi is a great value for bulk reagent dispensing. We use it for reagent and cell dispensing and consistently obtain low CVs. Service has been minimal on the instrument over a period of over six years. "

"The Multidrop Combi has been a reliable liquid dispenser for many years now and is a great improvement over the original Multidrop. The new LCD screen is an improvement over the basic setup of the original. The other major improvement is the reservoir which comes with a tube now so that you may collect the waste in a large container. The previous model had a collection tray that had to be emptied often if you were doing large numbers of plates. It is easy to set up and the cassettes that are used are reliable and long lasting. I would recommend cleaning them before and after with 70% EtOH. You will need to clean the deck of the unit if you spill anything. It is easy to use, and a great bang for the buck value-wise. The care after the sale wasn't a factor as we did not receive a call but it wasn't really necessary."

"We had this machine for more than six years and hardly had any serious technical issues. It is really easy to use and saves a lot of time while doing high-throughput sample preparation. Not a lot of maintenance required. Thermo provides a good technical support whenever there is an issue."

"The product works well but struggles with blocked tips. Have to spend money to replace the heads which would reduce value for money- once a tip is blocked it is difficult to unblock it. The interface is easy to use and program. Minor point is that the buttons can be quite tiring to press repeatedly."

"Multidrop has a small footprint and so frees up benchtop space. The cartridges are a little expensive and require replacement frequently. User interface is easy to use however selecting individual columns for dispenses could be improved."
