"The main selling point of this device is its ease of use. It can be operated standalone, or integrated into an automation setup. Sometimes the dispensing cassettes can be a bit fickle and clog, depending on the reagents being used."

"The Multidrop has been a reliable liquid dispenser for many years now. It is easy to set up and the cassettes that are used are reliable and long lasting. I would recommend cleaning them before and after with 70% EtOH. You will need to clean the deck of the unit if you spill anything. It is easy to use, and a great bang for the buck value wise. The care after the sale wasn't a factor as we did not receive a call but it wasn't really necessary."

"We integrated the Multidrop into a HTP automation station and is has been a very reliable piece of equipment. The only drawback for this application is that the robotic arm had difficulty placing the plate with the supplied troughs. Our solution was to saw down the supplied trough so the robot gripper could fit better. The equipment itself has been accurate and robust. Recommended."

The Thermo Fisher Multidrop 384 is optimized for dispensing into 384- and 96-well plates when the required volume per well is 20 μl or more.
The Thermo Multidrop 384 is an automated dispenser designed for high-throughput screening and microvolume dispensing into 384- and 96-well plates.This new-generation dispenser offers outstanding flexibility. The Multidrop 384 can easily switch from 96- to 384- well plates and dispense up to 8 different liquids simultaneously.

The greatest advantages of the Multidrop 384 dispenser system from Thermo Fisher Scientific are its high speed and automation. It can fill 20 µl of reagent into a 384-well plate in less than 20 seconds or a 96-well plate in five seconds. The Multidrop 384 is programmable over a wide volume range of 5-100 µl for 384-well plates and 5-395 µl for 96- well plates. Any number of columns can be selected, from 1-24 for 384-well plates and from 1-12 for 96-well plates.
Special features of Multidrop 384
Multidrop 384 allows continuous dispensing by using a high-precision peristaltic pump to dispense directly from single or multiple reagent bottles. Up to eight different liquids can be dispensed into any number of columns using the eight-channel dispensing cassette.
The Multidrop 384 can be used as a stand alone instrument or added to robotic systems via RS-323 serial port. For even greater flexibility and improved throughput, Assist Plate Handling Device (a robotic arm for stacking and transferring plates) is available for Multidrop 384. When dispensing volumes greater and equal than 10µl, Multidrop 384 is the correct choice for you.
