"Chromeleon 7.2 (CM7) is a highly intuitive software, especially for users with experience with recent MS Office products, as the user interface bears similarities to MS Office products (e.g. navigation pane, contextual menus, ribbon). Our analysts found the transition to CM7 to be very smooth and find it quick and easy to build sequences, equilibrate instruments, run sequences, and print and process data. The only complaint that we have encountered from our analysts is in regards to the ICF driver which is a product of Agilent, not Thermo; our analysts preferred the Dionex HPLC drivers and control panels in CM6 because the analysts could control the instruments from the panel without having to access the "Method" menu. In addition to being user-friendly, CM7 is very reliable. The XVault allows for access to the real time data even if our network is down. In the few instances where we have had an issue that required troubleshooting, the post-sale support has been fantastic. We have always received a timely response with follow-up phone calls and/or emails until the issue is resolved. CM7 is also versatile in its ability to control and collect data from the multiple makes and models of chromatography instruments we utilize in our lab. I would highly recommend CM7 to another laboratory."

"At our lab, we decided to convert our HPLC software to Chromeleon because we wanted a system that was FDA compliant, easy to use and would provide reproducible results. We were also looking for data trending capability as well as automated runs. After evaluating Empower and Chromeleon, our lab decided to go with Chromeleon because it was cheaper and the personnel were more friendly. I personally designed the report while working with a consultant from Thermo Scientific. She was very prompt and understanding of our needs. Since we were going to use these reports in QC environment, we needed to add Specifications and Pass/Fail criteria. After months of collaboratively working, we now have successfully working automated reports. We even validated every single calculation and formula. We can make trending graphs of Column performance, lot to lot variability, analyst variability, mobile phase performance and I can go on and on...We have been using the HPLC along with Chromeleon after the validation for over a year now and we have no problems. One more thing, we just started using SMART STARTUP, boy is that a lifesaver. We no longer need to manually clean, condition the columns. The sequences are automatically set up and all we need to do is click. There is a lot of up front work involved but once you do it, it's worth it. In the beginning it does that the software is not user friendly but with enough practice, it is a very powerful tool and one gets used to it. Our lab has no issues."

"Most powerful software available for regulated environment. The use of eWorkflows eliminate errors related to creating instrument/processing method every sequences. Very powerful report tools (excel like) allow the creation of the fanciest report you would want. I was sold to Empower before but now would never go back. Works probably better in QC regulated environment than R&D. After sale support is amazing. Software is user friendly and intuitive. "

"Chromeleon is by far the most confusing, convoluted and difficult to use software for chromatography that I have ever used. The inability to generate and save a method independently of a sequence is annoying and getting each sequence to run once set up is proving hugely frustrating.
