Great alternative to silver stains
"Convenient protein stain for the use with proteomics workflows. Easy staining protocol with fix, stain and wash step. Stained gels can be kept in ultrapure water without further destain of the spots. Convenient quantification over at least 2 orders of magnitude. Re-use of the gel was evaluated and can be easily done (e.g. for test gels without the need of highest sensitivity)."

SYPRO Ruby Protein Gel Stain (170-3126) 200 ml, 1x solution, ready–to–use fluorescent gel stain.
Fluorescent protein gel staining, when combined with an appropriate imager, is a superior approach to protein analysis compared to Coomassie and silver staining. Fluorescent gel stains offer advantages such as broad linear range, high sensitivity, and mass spectrometry compatibility.
SYPRO Ruby protein gel stain is the most widely used stain for 2-D electrophoresis. Ready-to-use SYPRO Ruby protein gel stain is compatible with mass spectrometry and Edman-based sequencing applications. It can be visualized with UV or blue light transilluminators or laser scanners.
