Easy to use but it is easy to break. It's difficult to find support.
Application Area: Pharmaceutical and food sample analysis
"It is very easy to use without going through the manual, but it is also very easy to break. The common cause is the main board burn. It happened to me when I worked in one of the big name of pharmaceutical companies, the power had gone off and the plug burnt. Luckily I just switched it on and hadn't put my sample in yet. The other place that happened to me was a food research lab. I put my sample in and the power cut out just after I closed the lid, so my sample was trapped inside for a week. The emergency release needed a lot of strength to turn. We tried to contact Eppendorf UK service but had no response, contacted head office in Germany with no luck. Then we Googled the problem and found out this problem happened across the globe and Eppendorf have discontinue the support for this model. So really, is a headache if its broken, especially for university or small company where they do not have budget for a brand new centrifuge which cost £4000-£5000. It's easy to use but easy to break and it's difficult to find support when it breaks."
