Overall, they work for what we need.

"Overall, they work for what we need. The system is easy to use, and the support team is great. I can attest to how attentive and helpful they are because we have had to contact them quite a lot for various issues. The biggest being that we have had to have the temperature equipment replaced in ALL 4 of the Sunrise readers we have. We think this may be because they slowly corrode over time due to the low levels of sulfate they may be exposed to in our anaerobic chambers, but not sure. Would be curious to hear if other customers have had the same issue."

Great results! Would not want to run high throughput ELISA without this reader! Very economical.

"This is absolutely the best, fastest, most reliable, absorbance reader on the market. The price is unbelievable for a reader of this quality. We have had one reader for three years with absolutely no problems. We just ordered and received a second reader this past month. We are delighted with how fast it reads a 96 well plate - 4 seconds. It is very easy to use the accompanying software to verify the reader is calibrated using the plate purchased for this purpose."

Robust machine that requires no servicing or maintenance.

"We have used the reader daily for 7 years now and not had maintenance or servicing carried out and the reader works as well as it did when we purchased it. It's easy to use and we use QC pac 2 monthly to ensure the accuracy of results. There has been no deterioration in filters, although they are easy to replace. "

"This is the fastest absorbance reader on the market. Because of the fast 5 second read, we can process 60 or more plates easily in a few minutes after running Elisa plates all day. The reader enables us to perform this many assays because reading the plates does not cause “bottlenecking” at the end of the day. So, we don’t have to stay late to read assays. It has a very nice calibration program for QAQC and prints a really nice record of the calibration. Love this reader!"

The flexible 12-channel Sunrise microplate reader supports a large variety of absorbance-based immunoassays – such as ELISAs – kinetic assays, colorimetric cell toxicity assays and other applications.
It features advanced temperature control up to 42 °C, and can measure a 96-well plate in under six seconds. Using four- or six-filter optics, or an advanced gradient filter, it enables wavelength selection in 1 nm increments. The Sunrise is designed to meet EU directive 98/79/EC for in vitro diagnostic products, and has a compact, space-saving design which can easily be integrated into Tecan liquid handling platforms, such as the Freedom EVOlyzer®.
Before any measurements are performed, a self-check system ensures that all major components of the Sunrise reader are fully functional. An optional QC Pac™ 2 package allows periodic verification of the correct functionality of all major components of the reader, and an IQ/OQ package is available to document instrument qualification results. For straightforward instrument control, the intuitive interface offers user-friendly data processing through Tecan’s Magellan™ software. Software tutorials with walk-through examples get you started easily, providing a quick start to Magellan data analysis and, for convenience, there is a choice of operating languages, including English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. Based on Tecan’s advanced manufacturing system and using carefully selected components offering high reliability and performance, the Sunrise reader is supplied with a unique three-year warranty as standard.
