"SpectraMax® M5 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader is very good and reliable system for any kind of assay (Kinetics, Endpoint Assay in Fluorescence, Absorbance, and Luminescence). This system doesn't need to change the filter for fluorescence just select excitation and emission wavelength and read the plate. I am using this plate reader very frequently and recommend to anyone looking for good plate reader. "

"The M5 has been a versatile instrument and is being used for ELISA assays, fluorescence measurements and other types of studies. The data is stable and the instrument is generally reliable. The only problem is the that cost of the service contracts is very high. "

"We have been using this for 3 years. It is easy to use and flexible. But it does have a well-to-well variation on 384 well plate when fluorescence intensity is measured. It also has a precision problem when 384 well plate was used. The signal goes down as the number of measurements are increased. The measurement with 96 well plates is OK."

"Software is very easy to use although it does occasionally malfunction and needs to be shut down and restarted. The %CV across the plate is minimal and machine works quickly so that's always a plus. With many features, it is used quite a lot in our lab and we are purchasing another one this year."

The upgradeable SpectraMax M5 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader comes with the standard five modes of detection with the upgrade option to add HTRF at a later time. Your applications, your modes, your choice.

The SpectraMax® M5 Multi-Mode Microplate Reader delivers single mode reader performance in one multimode reader package. The dual monochromator optics allow the widest range of applications to be utilized for bioresearch and drug discovery applications, all without the need to change filters.

The SpectraMax M5 Microplate Reader is the standard for UV/visible multi-mode reader absorbance, providing ultrafast, full spectral range detection for cuvettes, 96-, and 384-well microplates.

The SpectraMax M5 Microplate Reader possesses the five modes preferred by the majority of our users providing the benefit of multiple detection modes in one platform:

  • UV-Visible Absorbance (Abs)
  • Fluorescence Intensity (FI)
  • Time-Resolved Fluorescence (TRF)
  • Fluorescence Polarization (FP)
  • Glow Luminescence (Lumi)

SpectraMax® M5 MultiMode Microplate Reader Features:

  • Dual monochromators allow users to target the optimal assay excitation and emission wavelengths and eliminate the need to change expensive band pass filters between experiments.
  • Dual photomultiplier tubes (PMTs) provide detection flexibility to the widest variety of assays.
  • Reference diodes automatically adjust to slight fluctuations in excitation intensity to reduce measurement noise.
  • Absorbance applications are enhanced using top-quality UV grade fibers to provide strong light transmission in the lowest wavelengths.
