"Our old plate reader in Core was completely dead and we were evaluating several plate readers on the market. We were using three parameters to decide. The communications with sales and tech support, the reputation of the instrument (performance and how frequent services required) and the price. Molecular Devices were an obvious winner for us in all these categories. They even accepted dead instrument for trade-in and instrument delivered within 2 weeks, and training within a week. I would highly recommend a consideration for this product if you are looking for plate reader."

"This is our workhorse for the lab. It works reliably for standard fluorescence measurements. No issues or concerns with the instrument over the ~3 years we've had it."

"We have used this at the institute for a long time; it is user friendly and works seamlessly all the time. We routinely use this almost every day for various applications. Software is excellent too. All the members in our lab are highly impressed with this instrument. I cannot think about changing it. We have never encountered any issues so far and the after-sales service is fantastic, they are always very helpful and cooperative all the time. I would definitely recommend this instrument."

"We have had our SpectraMax M2 Microplate Reader for years, and it is truly a quality product that has aided our research efforts. Our primary use for the microplate reader is for fluorescence emission, and the SpectraMax M2 is sensitive, accurate, and precise even after years of use. I would definitely recommend this product."

"The SpectraMax M2 is suitable for measuring UV absorption. However, it is limited when it comes to fluorescence measurements, which is what I would suggest they need to improve."

"The reader is very well built and the design takes into consideration that it will be used in a laboratory setting. The Softmax Pro (v5.4) is a great software for generating reports and performing calculations. This is great considering for most companies software is an after thought. Although the software is powerful, the user must learn the language used by the program for customizing calculations. Another annoying aspect of the software is that the user cannot use the scrolling feature to move through long reports."

"the major advantage of this plate reader is the softmax pro sofware analysis package- a very powerful curve-fitting and interpolation tool."
