The 96 well and the 384 well non-binding surface (NBS) microplate is a modified polymer surface resulting in a non-ionic hydrophilic surface (polyethylene oxide-like), thereby minimising bio-interaction. Results have demonstrated NBS’s ability to significantly reduce protein and nucleic acid binding to polymers (over 90% reduction of protein binding compared to polystyrene and polypropylene surfaces), maintain enzyme activity, and inhibit adhesion of a number of cell lines.
