Smartcard control
Operator access to the autoclave control system by the operator by means of a smart card. The following cards are supplied with every new Rodwell Autoclave:

1 Supervisor Card is issued as standard with the autoclave and allows the full operator access to the autoclave programs. It will allow all cycle parameters to be set, adjusted and locked off if required.
4 Operator cards are also supplied. These allow certain operators to gain access to certain programs. These cards will not allow access to certain programs if the supervisor requires. These can be pre-programmed by means of a simple telephone call or email to Rodwell.

Service and Engineer smartcards can be made available to authorised engineers should the autoclave require upgrading (such as automatic fill added) or re-calibrating at a later date.

Notes:
SMARTCARD security comes with every Rodwell autoclave.

A supervisor card and 4 operator cards are supplied with every new autoclave. The supervisor card allows the person in charge to be able to set up programs and reset the autoclave event of a fault, as well as run and test the autoclave. Numbered operator cards allow dedicated operators only to operate the autoclave by means of selecting any one of up to 24 programs set up by the supervisor.

On the cycle print out (if a data logger is specified), the operator number is automatically printed. This is detected by the smartcard used to initiate the cycle.

SMARTCARD gives:
- Complete control on who operates the autoclave
- Simplicity in operation, a cycle is initiated by inserting the smartcard, before pressing start. No smartcard, no cycle.
- History on who has operated the autoclave (if a data logging of memory card system is specified).
- Convenience- Smartcard is the size of a standard credit card.
  SMARTCARD reduces:
  - Breakdowns caused by operator error- Most breakdowns are caused by untrained operators.
  - Expensive maintenance- The most expensive repairs are as result poorly trained engineers or organisations that do not have technical information or the training in the intricacies of equipment such as an autoclave.
  - The necessity to remember yet another access code, password, or pin number.
